Your BBB is calling on all ethical businesses to enter the Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics competition. All businesses in the twenty-six county area of the Texas Panhandle that show their customers they care, show their employees they are valued and show their community they are trustworthy are being called on to apply for the BBB’s Torch Award for Marketplace ethics!
What better way to show your employees and customers that you appreciate their role in making your business better than by entering the competition? There are three categories for businesses and one category for nonprofit organizations. The categories are determined by size of business, making the awards open to all area companies.
Award application workshops will be at the BBB offices, 720 S. Tyler, Suite B112. Call 379-6834 to reserve a seat. Applicants may start putting their application materials together prior to the workshop to be better prepared to ask questions and share experiences.
Any for-profit business and nonprofit organization located in the twenty-six county area of the Texas Panhandle (even if you do business outside of the area) can apply for the award. Contact the BBB at 379-6834.
The award is open to for-profit businesses that serve retail and wholesale markets AND nonprofit organizations in the twenty-six county area of the Texas Panhandle. Businesses whose primary markets are local, state, or federal governments are not eligible for this award. Nominees must be in good standing with the Better Business Bureau; however, membership in the BBB is not a requirement. The business must be free from any evidence that it does not meet its financial obligations.
To enter the competition, business representatives should print out and complete the official entry form, include supporting materials based on the judging criteria and contest rules. Make six (6) copies of your completed entry, mail the original and five copies to the BBB. Keep one copy for your files.
